Firyaion,
I noticed that recently you purchased 1 vegetable from me on the market at 12.50. Currently, I and other farmers have raised our food prices temporarily as a show of displeasure with the potentially hostile army at out city’s gates. It’s our intention to offer only over-priced food while they are intruding here in Ayr.
I realize that this tactic will cause discomfort for some citizens of Ayr who depend on the market for food. Therefore, I strongly urge folks who require food to go to the Cock & Bull tavern and buy food from there instead of the market. The C&B currently has meat and veggies priced well below the market rate.
In your case, this means you would have saved about 70 pence on the vegetable you bought from me, had you instead purchased it from the C&B. If you wish, I can reimburse you for this loss a few days from now once the intruding army has left our city.
Yours,
Buckminster
